A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 24-3-30, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF PLACES OF CONFINEMENT FOR A PERSON CONVICTED OF AN OFFENSE AGAINST THE STATE, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS SHALL CONSIDER PROXIMITY TO THE HOME OF THE CONVICTED PERSON IN DESIGNATING THE PLACE OF HIS CONFINEMENT UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES; AND TO AMEND SECTION 24-3-40, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE DISPOSITION OF WAGES OF A PRISONER ALLOWED TO WORK AT PAID EMPLOYMENT, SO AS TO REVISE THE AMOUNTS THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS DEDUCTS FROM A PRISONER'S GROSS WAGES TO SATISFY HIS RESTITUTION, CHILD SUPPORT, AND OTHER OBLIGATIONS.-AMENDED TITLE
