A Bill to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Section 38-7-27 so as to allow a credit against the insurance premium tax attributable to private passenger automobile insurance policies written in an amount equal to ninety-four hundredths of one percent of premium income on such policies, to require rate reductions on those policies equal to the credit attributable to them, to require a plain language statement of the reasons for the reduction on the appropriate applications and renewal notices; and to amend Section 38-7-100, relating to the distribution of insurance premium taxes, so as to provide that all premium taxes attributable to private passenger car insurance policies must be distributed to counties.
