The Committee on Labor, Commerce and Industry proposes the following amendment (LC-3129.CM0001H):
Amend the bill, as and if amended, SECTION 1, by striking Section 56-2-5010(A) and inserting:
(A) A business entity may operate a personal delivery device in a pedestrian area, sidewalk, or crosswalk in this State or on a highway, with the rights and duties applicable to a pedestrian, subject to the requirements and restrictions contained in this article. Except as authorized in this article, a person shall not operate a personal delivery device in a pedestrian area, sidewalk, or crosswalk, State or local road or on a highway in this State.Amend the bill further, SECTION 1, by striking Section 56-2-5010(B)(2) and (3) and inserting:
(2) not be operated in a pedestrian area at a speed greater than ten eight miles an hour under normal operation, or a speed no greater than ten miles an hour for emergency purposes; andAmend the bill further, SECTION 1, by striking Section 56-2-5010(D) and (E) and inserting:
(D) (C) The personal delivery device shall:Renumber sections to conform.
Amend title to conform.
