AN ACT TO AMEND CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 43-33-25 SO AS TO PERMIT HANDICAPPED PERSONS TO USE MOTORIZED WHEELCHAIRS OR MOTORIZED ON THE STRAND OF THE SEACOAST OF THIS STATE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Handicapped persons-use of motorized carts at beaches

Section 1. The 1976 code is amended by adding:

"Section 1. 43-33-25. For reasons set forth in Section 43-33-20, persons who are handicapped and who customarily use motorized wheelchairs or motorized carts for locomotion shall not be prohibited from using such wheelchairs or carts on the strand of the seacoast of this State."

Time Effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval of the Governor.
