AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 25-1-2210, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE MINIMUM PAY FOR NATIONAL GUARDSMEN WHEN CALLED TO STATE ACTIVE DUTY, SO AS TO INCREASE SUCH PAY TO THE REQUIRED FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Minimum wage for National Guardsmen

Section 1. Section 25-1-2210 of the 1976 Code is amended by striking "ten dollars per day" on line three and inserting "the required federal minimum wage computed on the basis of an eight- hour day". The section as amended shall read:

"Section 25-1-2210. Notwithstanding provisions of Section 25-1-2200, no National Guardsmen when called to state active duty shall receive less than the required federal minimum wage computed on the basis of an eight-hour day."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
