AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 462 OF 1978, RELATING TO ALLOWING HANDICAPPED PERSONS TO PARK IN METERED OR TIMED PARKING SPACES WITHOUT BEING SUBJECT TO FINES, SO AS TO REQUIRE MUNICIPALITIES HAVING MARKED PARKING SPACES TO PROVIDE APPROPRIATELY DESIGNATED SPACES RESERVED FOR THE PARKING OF HANDICAPPED PERSONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Municipalities to provide parking spaces

Section 1. Act 462 of 1978 is amended by adding:

"Section 2A. Those municipalities having marked parking spaces shall provide appropriately designated space or spaces reserved for the parking of handicapped persons."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
