AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT FORMER REGULAR AND RESERVE OFFICERS IN ANY COMPONENT OF THE ARMED FORCES APPOINTED AND COMMISSIONED IN THE NATIONAL GUARD IN THE RANK OF CAPTAIN OR FIRST AND SECOND LIEUTENANT SHALL BE GIVEN A DATE OF RANK COMMENSURATE WITH THEIR REGULAR OR RESERVE OFFICER DATE OF RANK.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Reserve officers-date of rank

Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, former Regular and Reserve officers in any component of the Armed Forces appointed and commissioned in the South Carolina Army National Guard and former Regular and Reserve officers in any component of the Armed Forces appointed and commissioned in the South Carolina Air National Guard in the rank of captain, or first and second lieutenant shall be given a date of rank commensurate with their Regular or Reserve officer date of rank.

Time Effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval of the Governor.
