AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-15-420, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE RECEIPT, TABULATION AND REPORTING OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS, SO AS TO DELETE THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE FINAL TABULATION OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE TOTALS OF THE RESIDENT PRECINCT OF THE ABSENTEE VOTER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Tabulation and reporting of absentee ballots

Section 1. Section 7-15-420 of the 1976 is amended to read:

"Section 7-15-420. When any absentee ballot is received, it shall be placed in a ballot box or other place of security designated by the election commission and shall be tabulated and reported as a separate precinct when other ballots of the county are counted on election day."

Time Effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval of the Governor.
