AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 111 OF 1977, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO AUCTIONS AND AUCTIONEERS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT ANY PERSON WHO WAS AN AUCTIONEER IN THIS STATE ON MAY 24, 1977, MAY BE LICENSED AS AN AUCTIONEER WITHOUT SERVING AN APPRENTICESHIP AND PROVIDE THAT ALL PERSONS SHALL TAKE THE REQUIRED EXAMI- NATION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Issuance of auctioneer's license without serving apprentice

Section 1. Paragraph two of Section 8 of Act 111 of 1977 is amended to read:

"Notwithstanding any other provision of this act, any person who has been in the auctioneer business in this State on the effective date of this act who makes proper application to the commission may be licensed as an auctioneer without holding an apprentice license for two years. Such person shall take the examination required by this section."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
