AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-140, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO VOTING PRECINCTS IN CHARLESTON COUNTY, SO AS TO FURTHER DEFINE ST. PHILLIP'S AND ST. MICHAEL'S PRECINCT AND TO DELETE GARDEN-KIAWAH PRECINCT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

St. Phillip's and St. Michael's Precinct

Section 1. Section 7-7-140 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 32 of 1979, is further amended by striking St. Phillip's and St. Michaels's Precinct and Garden-Kiawah Precinct and inserting:

"St. Phillip's and St. Michael's Precinct-Beginning at a point where Shipyard Creek and Pittsburg Avenue adjoin, extending westerly down the north side of Pittsburg Avenue to King Street Extension, running northwesterly up King Street Extension along the boundary of the City of Charleston, across the Ashley River, extending northwardly approximately one-fourth mile, then extending easterly to the intersection of Saluda and Pickens Streets, continuing easterly to King Street Extension, then northerly on King Street Extension to the five-mile viaduct at the point where the viaduct passes over Meeting Street Road, then southerly to the intersection of Clements Avenue and Meeting Street Road, continuing easterly on Clements Avenue, then easterly to the point where Burton Lane intersects, continuing easterly across Spruill Avenue to Viaduct Road, extending to the western boundary of North Charleston No. 10 (the U.S. Government reservation), then southerly to the point of beginning."

Time Effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
