A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE FOR APPOINTMENT OF A CITIZENS COMMITTEE TO STUDY MAGISTRATES COURT PROCEDURES AND THE DESIRABILITY OF CONSOLIDATION OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY MAGISTERIAL DISTRICTS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Committee to be appointed concerning magistrates

Section 1. The Fairfield County Legislative Delegation (hereinafter delegation) shall appoint a committee of five Fairfield County citizens whose duties shall be to study the desirability of altering magisterial procedures and of consolidating magisterial districts in Fairfield County, and to make recommendations, all in order to upgrade the effectiveness of magistrates' courts in Fairfield County. Members of the committee shall serve without compensation and for that time period extending from their respective appointments until the committee submits its final recommendations to the delegation. Final recommendations shall be submitted not later than six months from the effective date of this act.

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
