AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 29 OF PART II OF ACT 644 OF 1978, RELATING TO THE HEALTH CARE PLANNING AND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR AN ADDITIONAL AT LARGE MEMBER FROM THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND FROM THE SENATE AND RECONSTITUTE ITS MEMBERSHIP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Member added to committee

Section 1. The first paragraph of Section 29 of Part II of Act 644 of 1978 is amended to read:

"There is created a committee of fifteen members to be known as the Health Care Planning and Oversight Committee to review and monitor the health care planning function in South Carolina constituted as follows:

(1) Two members of the Ways and Means Committee and two members of the Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives and three members of the House of Representatives at large to be appointed by the Speaker;

(2) Two members of the Finance Committee and two members of the Medical Affairs Committee of the Senate and three members of the Senate at large to be appointed by the President;

(3) In addition, the chairman of the Committee to Study Public and Private Services, Programs and Facilities for the Aging shall appoint one committee member to serve on the committee."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
