AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE DORCHESTER COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY TO WITHDRAW WATER FROM THE EDISTO RIVER IN DORCHESTER COUNTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Dorchester County may withdraw water from Edisto River

Section 1. The Dorchester County Water Authority is hereby authorized to withdraw twenty million gallons of water a day from the Edisto River in the vicinity of Highway 61 and Givhans State Park in Dorchester County; provided, that the withdrawal granted by this act shall not interfere with the Commissioners of Public Works of the City of Charleston obtaining eighty million gallons per day through the two existing intakes at Givhans.

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
