AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 79 OF 1965, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE ELECTION OF THE UNION COUNTY BOARD OR TRUSTEES, SO AS TO FARTHER PROVIDE FOR THE AREAS FROM WHICH CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE BOARD SHALL BE ELECTED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Board members elected from voting precincts

Section 1. Section 2 of Act 79 of 1955 (Section 21-4154 of the 1962 Code), as last amended by Act 419 of 1969, is further amended by deleting on lines ten and eleven "Three members shall be elected from Jonesville No. 1; Jonesville No. 2; Jonesville No. 3; West Springs; and Kelton" and inserting "Three members shall be elected from the Jonesville Attendance Area" and by deleting on lines twelve and thirteen "Two members shall be elected from Adamsburg; Lockhart No. 1; and Lockhart No. 2" and inserting "Two members shall be elected from the Lockhart Attendance Area". When amended the section shall read:

"Section 2. The county superintendent of education shall be a qualified elector of the county and each member of the board shall be a qualified elector and reside within the voting precinct which he represents.

The members of the board shall be elected from the following voting precincts: Four members shall be elected from Bonham; Oakland; Excelsior; Monarch No. 1; Monarch No. 2: Ottaray; Union Ward No. l; Union Ward No. 2; Union Ward No. 3; Union Ward No. 4, Precinct No. 1; and Union Ward No. 4, Precinct No. 2. Three members shall be elected from the Jonesville Attendance Area. Two members shall be elected from the Lockhart Attendance Area. Two members shall be elected from Buffalo No. l; Buffalo No. 2; Coleraine, Putman; and Par ham. Two members shall be elected from Black Rock; Cross Keys; Carlisle; Meadows; and Santuc."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
