AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 50-17-2140, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO SETTING NETS FOR CATCHING SHAD IN GAME ZONES 5 AND 8, SO AS TO MAKE THE PROVISIONS RELATIVE TO USING SEINES, NETS AND OTHER DEVICES ON WEEKENDS IN GAME ZONE 8 THE SAME AS THE PROVISIONS IN GAME ZONE 5.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Game Zones 5 and 8-catching shad with nets

Section 1. Section 50-17-2140 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 512 of 1978, is further amended by adding at the end of line four "and Game Zone No. 8". The section when amended shall read:

"Section 50-17-2140. It shall be lawful to set nets for the catching of shad in Game Zones Nos. 5 and 8 from Wednesday noon until one hour after official sundown on Sunday during the open season. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 50-13-530, in Game Zone No. 5 and Game Zone No. 8 seines, nets and other plans or devices may be used at any time on Saturdays and Sundays in the muddy streams, creeks and inland waters of the zone."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
