AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-530, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO VOTING PRECINCTS IN YORK COUNTY, SO AS TO CONSOLIDATE THE RED RIVER PRECINCT AND THE MT. GALLANT PRECINCT INTO A NEW PRECINCT DESIGNATED AS THE MT. GALLANT PRECINCT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Voting precincts in York County

Section 1. Section 7-7-530 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 227 of 1977, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-530. In York County there shall be the following voting precincts: Bethany; Bethel; Blairsville; Bowling Green; Bullocks Creek; Cannon Mill; Catawba; Clover No. 1; Clover No. 2; Cotton Belt; Delphos; Ebenezer; Edgewood; Fewell Park; Filbert; Fort Mill No. 1; Fort Mill No. 2; Fort Mill No. 3; Fort Mill No. 4; Hickory Grove; Highland Park; Hopewell; India Hook; Lesslie No. 1; Lesslie No. 2; McConnellsville; Mt. Gallant; Mt. Holly; Newport; Northside; Northwestern; Oak Ridge; Ogden; Rock Hill No. 1; Rock Hill No. 2; Rock Hill No. 3; Rock Hill No. 4; Rock Hill No. 5; Rock Hill No. 6; Rock Hill No. 7; Sharon; Smyrna; Tega Cay; Tirzah; York No. 1; and York No. 2. Tega Cay precinct shall consist of that area beginning at the intersection of Highway 160 and the state line; thence southeast along the state line to the shoreline of Wylie Lake; thence following the Wylie Lake shoreline to the point where it intersects with Highway 99; thence north along the center line of Highway 99 to the intersection of Highway 160; thence north along the center line of Highway 160 to the point of beginning.

The precinct lines defining the above precincts are as shown on maps filed with the clerk of court of the county and also on file with the State Election Commission as provided and maintained by the Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board."

Precincts consolidated

Section 2. The Red River Precinct and the Mt. Gallant Precinct listed in Section 7-7-530 of the 1976 Code are consolidated into a single precinct designated "Mt. Gallant" in that section as amended in Section 1 of this act. The maps of precincts filed with the clerk of court of the county and also on file with the State Election Commission and maintained by the Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board shall be adjusted to reflect the consolidation provided for in this act.

Time effective

Section 3. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
