AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 56-5-5350, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO INSPECTION OF MOTOR VEHICLES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A VEHICLE MUST BE INSPECTED BEFORE IT MAY BE REGISTERED AND A CERTIFICATE OF TITLE ISSUED FOR SUCH VEHICLE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Inspection required

Section 1. Subsection (e) of Section 56-5-5350 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(e) The Department, before registering and titling a vehicle, shall require that the application therefor be accompanied by an official certificate of inspection and approval issued for the vehicle by an inspection station licensed to inspect vehicles in this State."

Time Effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval of the Governor.
