AN ACT TO ESTABLISH SINGLE MEMBER ELECTION DISTRICTS FOR THE ELECTION OF COUNTY COUNCIL OF HORRY COUNTY UNDER THE COUNCIL-ADMINISTRATOR FORM OF GOVERNMENT; TO PROVIDE FOR THE NUMBER, TERMS AND ELECTION OF SUCH MEMBERS AND TO REPEAL ACT 845 OF 1976 RELATING TO THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF HORRY COUNTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Horry County Council-election districts-conduct of election

Section 1. A. The County Council of Horry County under the members with eleven elected from single member election districts as provided in Subsection B and a chairman elected at large from the county. The members shall serve for a term of two years.

B. One member of the Council shall be elected from each of the single member election districts as set forth below:

C. The commissioners of election of Horry County shall conduct the election for the county council and chairman of the council as provided for in this act in the general election of 1980.

Repeal

Section 2. Act 845 of 1976 is repealed.

Time Effective

Section 3. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
