AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 16-23-20, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF PISTOLS AND EXCEPTIONS, SO AS TO PERMIT DEPUTY WILDLIFE CONSERVATION OFFICERS TO CARRY PISTOLS WITHIN THEIR TERRITORIAL JURISDICTIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Exceptions

Section 1. Item (1) of Section 16-23-20 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(1) Regular, salaried law enforcement officers of a municipality, county, of the State, uncompensated Governor's constables, law enforcement officers of the federal government or other states when they are carrying out official duties while in this State and deputy wildlife conservation officers within their territorial jurisdictions."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
