AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT MAGISTRATES IN LANCASTER COUNTY HAVING COUNTYWIDE JURISDICTION SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED TO BE RESIDENTS OF THE MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT WHICH THEY SERVE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Residency requirements of magistrates in Lancaster County

Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, effective April 1, 1980, magistrates in Lancaster County having county wide jurisdiction shall not be required to be residents of the magisterial district in which they serve.

Time Effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
