AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 52-7-30, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO COUNTY BOXING COMMISSIONS, SO AS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS FROM THREE TO FIVE, TO PROVIDE FOR THEIR APPOINTMENT AND ESTABLISH ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE COMMISSIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Membership of County Boxing Commission increased

Section 1. Section 52-7-30 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 52-7-30. The boxing commission of each county shall consist of five members, two to be appointed by the Senators representing the county, two by the members of the House of Representatives representing the county and one by the mayor of the city having the largest population within the county. All of the members shall serve without compensation and their respective terms of office shall be coterminous with the terms of office of persons by whom they were appointed.

Each commission shall file an annual report of its activities in the month of January with the legislative delegation of the county it represents. It shall be the responsibility of each commission that the health and safety of participants in boxing matches is safeguarded and that good sportsmanship is encouraged by the manner in which matches are conducted."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
