AN ACT TO AMEND PARAGRAPH (A) OF SECTION 7-7-270, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO VOTING PRECINCTS AND POLLING PLACES IN GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SO AS TO STRIKE STATUTORY REFERENCES TO POLLING PLACE LOCATIONS AND TO DIRECT THE GEORGETOWN COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSION TO SET THE LOCATIONS IN ALL GENERAL ELECTIONS AND THE POLITICAL PARTY DIRECTLY INVOLVED TO SET LOCATIONS IN PRIMARIES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Voting precincts in Georgetown County
Section 1. Paragraph (A) of Section 7-7-270 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 420 of 1978, is further amended to read:
"(A) In Georgetown County there shall be the following voting precincts: Andrews; Andrews Outside; Bethel; Brown's Ferry; Carver's Bay; Cedar Creek; Choppe; Georgetown No. 1; Georgetown No. 2; Georgetown No. 3; Georgetown No. 4; Georgetown No. 5 Maryville; Georgetown No. 6; Georgetown No. 7; Grier's; Yauhannah; Murrell's Inlet; Myersville; Pawley's Island; Pennyroyal; Plantersville; Pleasant Hill; Potato Bed Ferry; Sampit; Santee; Winyah Bay; Snow Mill; Spring Gulley; Folly Grove; Kensington and Black River. Polling places shall be as set by the executive committee of the political party conducting a primary and by the Georgetown County Election Commission in all general elections.
The precinct lines defining the above precincts are as shown on maps filed with the clerk of court of the county and also on file with the State Election Commission as provided and maintained by the Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board."
Time effective
Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
