AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 814 OF 1978, RELATING TO THE PER DIEM ALLOWANCE AND MILEAGE EXPENSE FOR TRUSTEES OF RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS NOS. 1 AND 2, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH TRUSTEES MAY RECEIVE A PER DIEM ALLOWANCE IN SUCH AMOUNT AS MAY BE SET BY THEM AND SHALL ALSO RECEIVE A MILEAGE EXPENSE PER MILE FOR ATTENDING SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS AT THE SAME RATE THAT MEMBERS OF STATE BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES RECEIVE AND TO ALSO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF MEETINGS PER YEAR FOR WHICH SUCH PER DIEM AND MILEAGE SHALL BE AUTHORIZED TO BE PAID.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Trustees may receive per them
SECTION 1. Section I of Act 814 of 1978 is amended to read:
"Section 1. The trustees of Richland County School Districts Nos. 1 and 2 may receive a per them allowance in such amount as may be set by the trustees of the respective districts and shall also receive a mileage expense per mile for attending school board meetings at the same rate that members of state boards, commissions and committees receive; provided, however, that such per them and mileage shall not be paid for more than thirty meetings in any one calendar year."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
