AN ACT TO VALIDATE AND CONFIRM THE CREATION OF FLORENCE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 5.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Creation of Florence County School District No. 5 validated, ratified and confirmed

SECTION 1. The creation of Florence County School District No. 5, which was created by Act 152 of 1959, is hereby validated, ratified and confirmed notwithstanding the limitation contained in that act that only qualified electors who were freeholders within the school district were entitled to vote in the election held thereunder to determine whether or not the district should be created.

District to be body politic

SECTION 2. The school district is declared to be a body politic and corporate empowered to exercise any and all powers, duties and responsibilities granted by law to school districts.

Acts validated and ratified

SECTION 3. All acts of whatsoever nature heretofore exercised by the board of trustees of the school district are hereby validated, ratified and confirmed.

Time effective

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
