AN ACT TO AMEND AN ACT OF 1981 BEARING RATIFICATION NUMBER 260, RELATING TO A SALARY SUPPLEMENT FOR THE COUNTY LUNCHROOM SUPERVISOR AND ATTENDANCE TEACHER IN LAURENS COUNTY, SO AS TO CHANGE THE DATE OF THE LEVY OF THE MILLAGE FOR SUCH SUPPLEMENT FROM TAX YEAR 1982 TO TAX YEAR 1981.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Date of levy of millage changed
SECTION 1. Section 1 of an act of 1981 bearing ratification number 260 is amended to read:
"Section .1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, in Laurens County the county auditor shall levy sufficient millage beginning with the year 1981 and in every year thereafter on behalf of the county board of education to provide for a twenty percent supplement to the compensation of the county lunchroom supervisor and attendance teacher or to provide for other expenses as authorized and determined by the Laurens County Board of Education. Provided, however, that the millage authorized by this section shall not exceed one mill in any fiscal year. If such tax millage is used to fund the twenty percent supplement, this supplement shall be based on the compensation of such personnel for fiscal year 1980-81 and shall be in the same dollar amount from year to year if the tax millage is used in future years to fund such supplement. In addition, such supplement may be paid beginning with fiscal year 1981-82."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
