AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 59, PART I, OF ACT 178 OF 1981, THE GENERAL APPROPRIATION ACT, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE APPROPRIATION FOR CONSERVATION DISTRICTS BE USED FOR GENERAL ASSISTANCE TO THE DISTRICT'S PROGRAM INSTEAD OF FOR CLERICAL OR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Use of appropriations

Section 1. The second paragraph following the appropriations for Section 59, Part I, of Act 178 of 1981 is amended to read:

"Provided, Further, That the appropriations in this section for 'Aid to Conservation Districts' shall be used by the Soil and Water Conservation Districts for general assistance to the district's program. Provided, further, no district shall receive any funds under this provision unless the county or counties wherein the district is located shall have appropriated no less than three hundred dollars to the district from county funds for the same purposes."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
