AN ACT TO REAPPORTION, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE UNITED STATES CENSUS OF 1980, THE DEFINED SINGLE-MEMBER ELECTION DISTRICTS FROM WHICH THE MEMBERS OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF LEE COUNTY ARE ELECTED.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Legislative intent
Section 1. The General Assembly, in accordance with the United States Census of 1980, is desirous of reapportioning the single-member election districts from which the members of the governing body of Lee County are elected. It is the further intent of the General Assembly by this act to adopt the reapportionment plan previously adopted by the Lee County Council.

Section 2. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, commencing with the 1982 general election, one member of the governing body of Lee County shall be elected from each of the following defined single-member election districts.
