AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 50-17-2160, AS AMENDED, AND 50-17-2165, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO SETTING NETS TO CATCH SHAD IN GAME ZONES 7, 9, 10, AND IN BERKELEY COUNTY, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE PROVISIONS RELATING TO GAME ZONE 7 AND BERKELEY COUNTY SHALL APPLY TO GAME ZONE 9, AND TO DELETE GAME ZONE 9 FROM THE PROVISIONS WHICH REGULATE THE CATCHING OF SHAD IN GAME ZONE 10.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Setting nets in game zones 7 and 9 and Berkeley County

Section 1. Section 50-17-2160 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Section 1 of Act 55 of 1981, is further amended by striking on line one "Zone 7" and inserting "Zones 7 and 9". The section as amended shall read:

"Section 50-17-2160. In Game Zones 7 and 9 and Berkeley County it shall be lawful to set nets to catch shad from Monday noon until Saturday noon during the open season."

Section 2. Section 50-17-2165 of the 1976 Code, added by Section 2 of Act 55 of 1981, is amended by striking on line one "Zones 9 and" and inserting "Zone". The section as amended shall read:

"Section 50-17-2165. In Game Zone 10 it shall be unlawful to catch shad or set any seine or net or other device for the taking of shad from twelve noon on Sunday until twelve noon on the Tuesday following during the open season, except with skimbow nets for noncommercial purposes on the Black and Great Pee Dee Rivers within such game zones."

Section 3. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
