AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 31-15-10, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DEFINITIONS IN REGARD TO A MUNICIPALITY'S AUTHORITY TO REPAIR, CLOSE, OR DEMOLISH UNFIT DWELLINGS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT MUNICIPALITIES HAVING A POPULATION OF ONE THOUSAND INHABITANTS RATHER THAN FIVE THOUSAND INHABITANTS SHALL HAVE SUCH AUTHORITY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Definition

Section 1. Item (1) of Section 31-15-10 of the 1976 Code is amended by striking on line two "five" and inserting "one". The item when amended shall read:

"(1) `Municipality' shall mean any city or town having a population of more than one thousand inhabitants;".

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
