AN ACT TO AMEND AN ACT OF 1982 BEARING RATIFICATION NUMBER 331, RELATING TO THE ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SUMMERVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2 OF DORCHESTER COUNTY, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SUCH SCHOOL DISTRICT, INSTEAD OF TRUSTEES OF EACH SCHOOL DISTRICT IN THE COUNTY, SHALL CONTINUE TO SERVE UNTIL JANUARY 1, 1983.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Members of board of trustees to continue to serve

Section 1. Subsection (d) of Section 2 of an act of 1982 bearing ratification number 331 is amended by striking "each school district" on line three and inserting "Summerville School District No. 2" so that when amended the subsection shall read:

"(d) The elected members of the board of trustees shall take office on the first day of January immediately following their election. The members of the board of trustees of Summerville School District No. 2 serving in office on the effective date of this act shall continue to serve until January 1, 1983, at which time their successors elected in the manner prescribed herein shall take office."

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
