AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE TERM OF THE AUDITOR OF SUMTER COUNTY SHALL COMMENCE ON THE FIRST DAY OF JULY OF THE YEAR FOLLOWING HIS ELECTION BEGINNING WITH THE GENERAL ELECTION OF 1984, TO PROVIDE THAT THE CURRENT AUDITOR OF SUMTER COUNTY SHALL HOLD OVER UNTIL 1985, AND TO AMEND ACT 525 OF 1967, RELATING TO THE ELECTION OF THE COUNTY AUDITOR AND TREASURER OF SUMTER COUNTY, SO AS TO DELETE THE PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE ELECTION OF THE AUDITOR OF SUMTER COUNTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Term of auditor

Section 1. Beginning with the general election of 1984, the auditor of Sumter County shall be elected for a term of four years and until his successor is elected and qualifies. Such term shall commence on the first day of July of the year following his election.

Current auditor to hold over

Section 2. The current auditor of Sumter County shall hold over until June 30, 1985.

Section deleted

Section 3. Act 525 of 1967 is amended by deleting Section 1.

Time effective

Section 4. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
