A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THAT FOR THE YEAR 1981 ONLY WHEN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION RECESSES FOR A PERIOD OF SIX OR MORE CONSECUTIVE CALENDAR DAYS, THE NINETY-DAY PERIOD FOR LEGISLATIVE REVIEW OF STATE AGENCY REGULATIONS AS CONTAINED IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES ACT SHALL CEASE TO RUN FROM THE FIRST DAY OF SUCH RECESS UNTIL THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY RECONVENES IN STATEWIDE SESSION AT THE END OF SUCH RECESS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

General Assembly recessed for six days - procedure

Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 12 of Article I of Act 176 of 1977 (The Administrative Procedures Act), for the year 1981 only when the General Assembly by resolution recesses for a period of six or more consecutive calendar days during the 1981 regular session, the ninety-day period of legislative review provided for in such Section 12 shall cease to run on the first day of the recess and until the General Assembly reconvenes in statewide session at the end of such recess. In the event of multiple recesses, the same procedure shall apply.

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
