AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 220 OF 1981, RELATING TO THE ELECTION OF SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEES IN ANDERSON COUNTY, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT WHEN AN ELECTION IS HELD AT THE SAME TIME AS A GENERAL ELECTION ONLY THE EXPENSE OF PRINTING BALLOTS SHALL BE BORNE BY A SCHOOL DISTRICT AND, IF THE ELECTION IS A SPECIAL ELECTION, THE EXPENSES OF THE ELECTION SHALL BE PAID BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT CONCERNED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

School districts to bear expenses of printing ballots

Section 1. Section 1 of Act 220 of 1981 is amended by adding the following paragraph at the end:

"If a school trustee election is held at the same time as a general election, only the expense of printing the ballots shall be borne by the school districts from which trustees are elected. If the election is a special election, all of the expenses of the election shall be borne by the school districts electing trustees."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
