AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE MANNER IN WHICH CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY SHALL BE ELECTED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Election of members

Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 1 of Act 632 of 1980, where two current members of the board of trustees of the school district of Williamsburg County (not including any at-large members thereof) now reside in the same election district as a result of the reapportionment of such districts pursuant to the official United States Census of 1980, no election of the member of the board from such district shall be held in 1982 and the member residing in the district whose term expires on December 31, 1984, shall continue to serve until his term expires and the member residing in the district whose term expires on December 31, 1982, shall cease to be a member of the board as of this date.

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
