AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 50-13-1135, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DEVICES AND THE NUMBER OF THEM WHICH MAY BE USED FOR NONCOMMERCIAL FISHING BEFORE A FRESHWATER COMMERCIAL FISHING LICENSE IS REQUIRED, SO AS TO ALLOW USE OF ONE GILL NET THIRTY YARDS TO TWO HUNDRED YARDS IN LENGTH, OR FIVE GILL NETS, NONE OF WHICH EXCEED THIRTY YARDS IN LENGTH BY A PERSON WITHOUT A FRESHWATER COMMERCIAL FISHING LICENSE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Gill nets

SECTION 1. Item (a) of Subsection (2) of Section 50-13-1135, as last amended by Act 461 of 1982, is further amended to read:

"(a) two or more gill nets if one of them is thirty yards to no more than two hundred yards in length, or five or more gill nets, none of which exceeds thirty yards in length;"

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
