AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 20-7-420, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE JURISDICTION AND POWERS OF THE FAMILY COURT, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE FAMILY COURT MAY ORDER PERIODS OF VISITATION FOR THE GRANDPARENTS OF A CHILD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Periods for visitation for grandparents of child

SECTION 1. Section 20-7-420 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 398 of 1982, is further amended by adding the following item to read:

"(33) To order periods of visitation for the grandparents of the child."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
