AN ACT TO REDEFINE THE PRECINCT LINES IN DORCHESTER COUNTY, TO PROVIDE THAT MAPS DEFINING PRECINCT LINES SHALL BE FILED WITH CERTAIN OFFICIALS, AND TO REQUIRE THAT DUPLICATE VOTER REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES BE MAILED TO PERSONS WHOSE REGISTRATION IS TRANSFERRED BY THIS ACT AND TO REPEAL ACT 356 OF 1982, RELATING TO PRECINCT LINES IN DORCHESTER COUNTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Voting precincts in Dorchester County

SECTION 1. In Dorchester County there shall be the following voting precincts: Saul Dam; Delemars; Givhans; Ridgeville; Rosses; Grover No. 3; Harleyville; Four Hole; Rosinville; St. George No. 2; St. George No. 1; Grover No. 1; Reevesville; Gregg; Ashborough; Stallsville; Coastal; Trolley; Tranquil; Carolina; Dorchester; German Town; Greenwave; Newington; Beech Hill; Flowertown; Knightsville; Clemson; Indian Field; North Summerville; Spann; Tupperway; and Irongate.

The precinct lines defining the above precincts are as shown on maps filed with the clerk of court of the county and also on file with the State Election Commission as provided and maintained by the Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board.

Board to mail duplicate certificate

SECTION 2. The board of registration of Dorchester County shall mail a duplicate certificate reflecting the new precinct to any person whose registration is transferred to another precinct by virtue of the provisions of this act. The certificate shall not be required to be signed by the named elector in the presence of anyone.

Repeal

SECTION 3. Act 356 of 1982 is repealed.

Time effective

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
