AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-11-3011, SO AS TO DESIGNATE THE CITY OF TEGA CAY IN YORK COUNTY A BIRD SANCTUARY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Bird sanctuary in Tega Cay

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-11-3011. The city of Tega Cay in York County is declared to be a bird sanctuary. It is unlawful for anyone to kill or maim any bird within the sanctuary. Anyone violating the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined in an amount not to exceed twenty dollars or imprisoned for a period not to exceed five days."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
