AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 1419 OF 1974, RELATING TO THE PIEDMONT SEWER, LIGHT AND FIRE DISTRICT OF ANDERSON AND GREENVILLE COUNTIES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT TAXES LEVIED ON PROPERTY WITHIN THE INDICATED SUBDISTRICTS FOR ITS PUBLIC FIRE DEPARTMENT AND FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM BE EQUAL TO THE MILLAGE OF ALL OTHER PROPERTY WITHIN THE DISTRICT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Commission may levy tax

SECTION 1. Section 6 of Act 1419 of 1974 is amended to read:

"Section 6. The Commission may levy a tax upon the property within the industrial subdistricts for the operational purposes of its public fire department and fire control system which is equal to the millage levied for such purpose against all other property owners within the district, but no such tax may be imposed for the purposeof paying or servicing any bonded indebtedness of the Piedmont Sewer, Light and Fire District of Anderson and Greenville Counties."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
