AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR AREAS AND BOUNDARIES FOR CERTAIN SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN FLORENCE COUNTY, TO PROVIDE THAT NO OTHER ALTERATION MAY BE MADE OF THESE BOUNDARIES EXCEPT AS PROVIDED BY SECTION 59-17-20, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE TAX MILLAGE LEVIED AND COLLECTED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FIRE DISTRICTS IN FLORENCE COUNTY SHALL BE BASED ON THE NOW EXISTING SCHOOL DISTRICT BOUNDARY LINES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Areas of school districts

SECTION 1. The areas as shown on the following maps in the Office of the Florence County Tax Assessor used for fiscal year 1983 are deemed to be in Florence County School District 1 except for the areas on Maps 30, 51, 52, and 53 which are shown to be in Florence County School District 4 and except for the changes contained in Section 2 herein:

Boundary lines

SECTION 2. (a) The boundary line between School Districts 1 and 4 in the county as shown on Map 077 is changed as follows: Beginning at the northernmost point of 1-95 as shown on the map to lot 37, then along the southern line of lot 37 and parcels 120 and 75, then to the western line of parcels 050 and 027, 030, 109, and 062, then along the southern line of 062, 105, 106, 104, 078, 080, 037, and 042 to the southeastern corner of parcel 042;

(b) The boundary line for School Districts 1 and 4 as shown on Map 078 is changed as follows:

Beginning at the northwest corner of parcel 001 and extending to the northern line of parcel 003, then to the western line of parcel 003, 025, and 026 to the present boundary of School Districts 1 and 4 as shown on such map.

(c) The boundary line for School Districts 1 and 4 as shown on Map 053 is changed as follows:

The entire portion of U. S. Highway 76 as shown on Map 053 shall be in School District 4,

(d) The boundary line between School Districts 1 and 4 in the county as shown on Map 076 is changed as follows:

Beginning at the westernmost point of Highway 76 as shown on the map to Road S.21-545 between parcels 035 and 002, then north on S.21-545 to the northwestern corner of parcel 097, thence along the northern boundary of parcel 097, thence along the northwestern boundary of 003 to old S.21-545, then across 1-95 to the northwest corner of parcel 094, then across the rear line of parcels 094, 092, and 067, then along the eastern line of parcel 067 to Highway 76, then west on Highway 76 back to the end of the map.

(e) Road S.21-575 shall be the boundary line between School Districts 1 and 2 for purposes of Maps 284 and 285, except that lot 031 shall be in School District 1.

(f) The boundaries between School Districts 1 and 2 as shown on Map 252 shall constitute the boundaries of such districts for purposes of this map except that parcel 007 south of Road 1007 shall be in School District 2.

(g) Road S.21-46 shall be the boundary line between School Districts 1 and 2 for purposes of Maps 283 and 314.

The changes to the above-referenced maps as contained in this section shall be shown on these maps in the office of the Florence County Tax Assessor. No other alteration may be made of these boundaries except as provided by Section 59-17-20 of the 1976 Code.

Tax millage

SECTION 3. The tax millage levied and collected for the benefit of the fire districts in Florence County shall be based on the school district boundary lines as they existed before being amended by the provisions of this act.

Time effective

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect July 1, 1985.
