AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A BRIDGE IN CHEROKEE COUNTY AS "CHARLIE H. SARRATT BRIDGE".

Whereas, Charlie H. Sarratt of Gaffney in Cherokee County served Cherokee County and the State faithfully and efficiently as a member of the Gaffney Maintenance Department of the South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation from November 17, 1930, until he retired as supervisor of the Department on June 30, 1972; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly feel that in recognition of his devotion to duty, the bridge on Road S11-63 over Goforth Creek should be named in his honor. Now, therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Bridge designated "Charlie H. Sarratt Bridge"

SECTION 1. The bridge over Goforth Creek on Road S11-63 in Cherokee County is designated "Charlie H. Sarratt Bridge". The Department of Highways and Public Transportation shall install appropriate markers or signs at places on the bridge, as it considers advisable, containing the words "Charlie H. Sarratt Bridge". Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
