AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 503 OF 1982, RELATING TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF AIKEN COUNTY, SO AS TO REDUCE THE MILLAGE THAT MAY BE LEVIED FOR THE OPERATION OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND TO REPEAL PROVISIONS AUTHORIZING FIVE ADDITIONAL MILLS TO BE LEVIED FOR 1981-82 TO BE USED FOR THE OPERATIONS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Board of Education authorized to levy tax

SECTION 1. Section 17 of Act 503 of 1982 is amended to read: "Section 17. The Aiken County Board of Education is authorized to levy for the operation of the School District of Aiken County in 1984-85 and in ensuing years a tax in an amount not to exceed 78 mills."

Repeal

SECTION 2. Section 18 of Act 503 of 1982 is repealed. Time effective

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
