AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY

ADDING SECTION 43-1-25 SO AS TO PROHIBIT A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF

SOCIAL SERVICES FROM HAVING ANY INTEREST IN A NURSING HOME OR TXTRESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITY OR ANY PERSONAL PROPERTY USED IN THE FACILITIES AND TO EXEMPT PRESENT MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Prohibition on member of Board of Social Services from having

certain interests

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 43-1-25. No member of the State Board of Social Services, directly or indirectly, (a) individually, (b) as a member of a partnership or of an association, (c) as a member or stockholder of a corporation, or (d) as a relative to any person by consanguinity or affinity within the second degree shall have any interest in any business which contracts with the Department of Social Services to provide services."

Applicability

SECTION 2. The provisions of this act shall not apply to any person who is presently serving as a member of the State Board of SocialServices.

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
