AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE ALTERING OF PORTIONS OF THE BOUNDARY LINE BETWEEN SCHOOL DISTRICTS ONE AND TWO IN LEXINGTON COUNTY, AND TO REQUIRE THE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION OF LEXINGTON COUNTY TO PREPARE MAPS DEFINING THE BOUNDARIES OF LEXINGTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS ONE AND TWO AS ALTERED BY THIS ACT AND FILE THEM WITH THE OFFICES OF THE AFFECTED SCHOOL DISTRICTS, THE COUNTY AUDITOR, THE COUNTY ASSESSOR, AND THE COUNTY ENGINEER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Boundary lines for School Districts 1 and 2 in Lexington County

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, portions of the boundary line between School Districts One and Two in Lexington County are altered as follows:

(a) The present line (before the effective date of this act) located on the west side of Allendale Road which passes through Lots 16 through 9 on Lexington County Tax Map Sheet 04519, Block 9 and Lot 11, Block 12 shall be relocated to coincide with the western boundary of Lots 1-16, Block 9 and Lot 8, Block 11 and proceed in a northerly direction in a straight line until it reaches a point even with the northern boundary in Jessamine Road (shown as Scottsdale Drive on Lexington County Tax Map 04519), then turning and running in a northeasterly direction along the northern side of Jessamine Road until it reaches the present district line where it resumes the present line to the north.

(b) The present line (before the effective date of this act) located so as to pass through the Hidden Valley Mobile Home Manor (shown as Block 2, Lots 1 and 2 on Lexington County Tax Map Sheet 04598) which leaves 6.84 acres in District One and 2.84 acres in District Two shall be relocated so as to start at a point on the southern side of Lots 1 and 2 and turn in an easterly direction following the southern boundary of Lot 2 and turning north along the boundary of Lot 2 until the line reaches Hidden Valley Drive (which coincides with the northern boundary of Lot 2) then turning and following Hidden Valley Drive in an easterly direction until the line reaches Spring Road, then turning to the north and following Spring Road until the line reaches Mineral Springs Road, where the line turns to the west and follows Mineral Springs Road until it reaches the present line where it resumes the present line to the north.

The County Board of Education of Lexington County shall prepare maps defining the boundaries of Lexington County School Districts One and Two as altered by this act and file them with the offices of the affected school districts, the county auditor, the county assessor, and the county engineer.

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
