AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 1120 OF 1960, RELATING TO THE LIBERTY-CHESNEE-FINGER-VILLE WATER DISTRICT IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO INCREASE THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE DISTRICTS' COMMISSION FROM THREE TO FIVE AND TO ESTABLISH THE TERMS OF THE NEW MEMBERS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Membership of water district increased

SECTION 1. Section 2 of Act 1120 of 1960 is amended to read:

"Section 2. The district is operated and managed by a commission known as 'Liberty-Chesnee-Fingerville Water Commission,' which consists of five resident electors of the district.

The terms of office of the members of the commission are for six years. In all cases the members of the commission shall hold office until their successors qualify. The commission must be appointed by the Governor upon the recommendation of the legislative delegation from the county. Any vacancy occurring in the office of commissioner by reason of death, resignation, or otherwise, must be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term by appointment in the manner of the original appointment."

Terms established

SECTION 2. Of the two members added to the Liberty-Chesnee-Finger-

ville Water Commission by this act, one must be appointed for a six year term and one must be appointed for a four year term. Their successors must be appointed for regular six year terms.

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
