AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-19-315 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE TERM OF OFFICE OF EVERY ELECTED TRUSTEE OF SCHOOL DISTRICTS SHALL COMMENCE ONE WEEK FOLLOWING THE CERTIFICATION OF HIS ELECTION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Commencement of term

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 59-19-315. The term of office of every elected trustee of a school district must commence one week following the certification of his election."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
