AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-13-60, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE HOURS OF THE OPENING AND CLOSING OF POLLING PLACES, SO AS TO CHANGE THE HOUR OF THE OPENING OF THE POLLS FROM EIGHT TO SEVEN O'CLOCK A.M.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Opening of polls
SECTION 1. Section 7-13-60 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 7-13-60. The polls must be opened at seven o'clock in the forenoon and close at seven o'clock in the afternoon of the day of election and must be held open during these hours without intermission or adjournment; but the county committee may close any poll or all polls within any county in any primary election at an earlier hour."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
