AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 55-1-80, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO ADDITIONAL MEMBERS OF COUNTY AVIATION COMMISSIONS OR LIKE AUTHORITIES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT IN COUNTIES WITH TWO MUNICIPALITIES WITH A POPULATION IN EXCESS OF FIFTY THOUSAND PERSONS, AND THE COUNTY HAS AN AVIATION COMMISSION OR LIKE AUTHORITY, THE MAYORS OF THE MUNICIPALITIES HAVING A POPULATION IN EXCESS OF THE FIFTY THOUSAND PERSONS SHALL SERVE ON THE COMMISSION OR AUTHORITY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Mayor to serve on Aviation Commissions

SECTION 1. Section 55-1-80 of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 471 of 1984, is further amended by adding at the end:

"(C) In counties that have two municipalities with a population in excess of fifty thousand persons according to the latest official United States Census, and the county has an aviation commission or like authority, then the mayors of such municipalities having a population in excess of the fifty thousand persons shall serve, ex officio, as members of the commission or authority."

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
