AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-11-2875, SO AS TO DESIGNATE DEERFIELD PLANTATION IN HORRY COUNTY A BIRD SANCTUARY AND TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Bird sanctuary designated

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-11-2875. The area designated as Deerfield Plantation in Horry County is designated as a bird sanctuary, and it is unlawful for any person to trap, hunt, molest, or attempt to molest in any manner any bird or wild fowl or to molest any birds' nests or wild fowls' nests within the sanctuary. Any person violating the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than one hundred dollars or imprisoned for not more than thirty days."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
