A JOINT RESOLUTION TO ADOPT REVISED CODE VOLUMES 8, 13, AND 15 AND NEW VOLUMES 8A, 13A, AND 15A OF THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, TO THE EXTENT OF THEIR CONTENTS, AS THE ONLY GENERAL PERMANENT STATUTORY LAW OF THE STATE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Findings

SECTION 1. (A) Section 2-13-90 of the 1976 Code authorizes the Legislative Council and the Code Commissioner to contract to be prepared and published under their supervision and direction revised volumes of the Code of Laws when, in their judgment, the supplement of any volume becomes too bulky for convenient use; and

(B) The Legislative Council and the Code Commissioner have determined that the cumulative supplement to volumes 8, 13, and 15 have become too bulky for convenient use.

(C) Section 2-13-90 of the 1976 Code also provides that the revised volumes must be submitted to the General Assembly for its consideration.

Volumes adopted

SECTION 2. (A) Revised volume 8 and new volume 8A, containing Titles 16 through 20, of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, are substituted for original Volume 8 containing the same titles.

(B) Revised Volume 13 and new volume 13A, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, containing Titles 37-39 are substituted for original Volume 13.

(C) Revised Volumes 15 and new volume 15A, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, containing Titles 42-44 are substituted for original Volume 15.

Revised Volumes 8, 13, and 15, and new volumes 8A, 13A, and 15A are adopted as part of the Code of Laws and to the extent of their contents the only general permanent statutory law of the State as of January 1, 1985."

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
